Ipad

Companies such as Samsung Electronics and Dell Inc are already selling tablets, but neither seems to have slowed the iPad's momentum.

Apple set a high bar with the first iPad, so the company will have a harder time creating a "wow-factor" with the second iteration. It sold nearly 15 million iPads in 2010 after an April launch

Apple is selling the iPad through its authorised resellers and partner stores across the country, an India-based company spokesperson told Reuters.

Customers have the option to buy an iPad with 16, 32 or 64 giga bytes of memory and can choose a model that works only on Wi-Fi or on both Wi-Fi and 3G.

Apple has priced the iPad in India between Rs27,900 rupees and Rs44,900 ,depending on the model.
The 64 GB iPad model that operates on both Wi-Fi and 3G costs Rs44,900, according to Apple's website.

India is the world's second biggest mobile market after China with 730 million mobile customers, but the price-sensitive market is still small in base for sales of smart phones.
