Vodafone has now launched its first MiFi device. Manufactured by Huawei, the R201 connects to Vodafone's 3G network and allows up to 5 uses with Wi-Fi to connect to it and browser the Web.
The device works on GSM 850/900/1800/1900 and UMTS 900/2100/1900. It supports HSDPA 7.2 Mbps and HSUPA 5.76 Mbps. It supports Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g and is DLNA certified. The device is slightly bigger than a credit card and weighs 90g. It has an OLED display which displays the network and battery status and a microSD card slot. The R201 has a 1400mAh rechargeable battery and can charge over the supplied charger or USB. The battery is rated to last around 4 hours.
